The genesis of the Bronc Botz Robotics Team was in September, 2009 when FIRST founder, Dean Kamen, visited San Antonio and wowed a spellbound audience with his passionate message about inspiring young minds and how FIRST nurtures the innovative spirit of our future workforce. His message spread like wildfire throughout the San Antonio community, challenging us to get involved. Louis D. Brandeis High School was one of the academic organizations eager to join the movement. When teacher Anabelle Ornelas and students Britta Salinez and Kevin Zhao stepped up to meet the challenge, the Bronc Botz team was formed.
Since then, we have advanced to World Championships in both St. Louis and in Houston, competing at World’s 7 out of 9 years of Bronc Botz existence. We have advanced as far as division Semi-Finals in 2016, and division Quarter-Finals in 2018.
